- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- Social Policy for Students of National Economics (SPNH)
Main objectives of the course are: to understand the concept and role of social policy in market economy in relationship to economic policy;
to learn the definition of the reference framework of social policy, goals, functions and tools of social policy;
to understand the history of social policy;
to learn social security, pension schemes, health insurance, state social benefits and social support, expecially in the Czech Republic;
to obtain the basic overview of partial social policies - health, housing, educational, family policy, especially in the Czech Republic.
to analyse social policy in EU
Requirements for the admission to exam are: writing and successful presentation of the seminar work on special topic concerning the subject matter covered in seminars during the semester;
regular preparation for seminars by studying selected materials concerning studied problems.

- Assessment methods
- Lectures and seminars are held regularly in separate weeks during the semester. The course is concluded by a written exam. Its range matches the topics discussed in lectures and seminars and topics studied by students separately. Requirements for admission to the exam are writing and successful presentation of the seminar work on special topic concerning subject matters before the deadline; regular preparation for seminars by studying selected materials concerning studied problems and ability to discuss these problems. A student, who fails to meet these requirements, should consult his/her teacher, who considers the possibility of an alternative solution on the basis of his/her discretion of relevance and reasons of student's nonfulfilment of the requirements.
