Course objectives
Contents of course Rural development represen basic economic, social, demographic, environmental and architectural knowledge of countryside. After introductionary definition of countryside studenta are acquainted with bacis statistical information of Czech countryside. Attention is also paid tu cultural values of countryside. Life environment is based on sustainable development of countryside and on importance of preservation and restauration of landscape. Follows au problems of lands revision and agricultural utilization of landscape. Basic possibilities of countryside restauration are characterized, too (Program of coutryside restauration). Students are also acknowledged with EU approaches, which emphasizes upgrading of environmental quality of coutryside (e.g. LEADER initiative). At the end of this course, students should be able to understand and solve relevant problem of rural development.
Syllabus
  • 1.Basic concepts (countryside, country space, country region and possible ways of countryside delimination).
  • 2.Country space and landscape form architectural and urbanistic point of views.
  • 3.Cultural values as one from factors, which forms country space.
  • 4.Possibilities od preservation, protection, regeneration and creation of cultural environment and cultural values of countryside.
  • 5.Economic aspects influencing rural development.
  • 6.Demographic development of countryside.
  • 7.Residential ufnction of countryside.
  • 8.Restoration of countryside.
  • 9.Countyside and live environment (landscape, restoration of landscape, protected areas, biodiverzity and sustainable development).
  • 10.Lands and lands revisions and arrangement.
  • 11.Multifunctional agriculture, forestry, countryside and tourism.
  • 12.Common agriculturalpolicy of EU.
  • 13.Supporting programmes of rural development.
