The course is designed for Master’s students in the daily study programme in the Public Economy and Administration and Management in Culture fields of study.

Abstract
Course description, learning objectives and learning outcomes
The course has a specializing character. Its concept is based on the presumption that students have already acquired the knowledge of the subject matter in courses Theory of the Public Sector, Economics of the Public Sector and Economics of Non-profit Organizations. Lectures focus on general topics related to cultural policy, while the structure of seminars enables students to get to know individual instruments and institutions of cultural policy in practice. Students will be able:
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding in a field of analyzing instruments and instutions of cultural policy,
- apply the knowledge and understanding about cultural policy in occupational contexts;
- to identify and use data to formulate responses to well-defined concrete and abstract problems;
- to be aware of different models of cultural policy and types of cultural activities, their institutions and organisational framework;
- to analyze managerial characteristics and identify problems of cultural organizations and argue possible sollutions.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Teaching and assessment methods, requirements - full-time form of the course.
Lectures, class discusion, presentations by professionals in the sectors, homeworks.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
The successful completion of the course involves a written test (at least 55%), a written seminar paper (as part of oral exam) and oral exam.
Important information! If students commit a prohibited act, such as using various forbidden tools, cribbing, taking out any part of the exam or any other cheating, the teacher is allowed to interrupt an exam and to grade a student with F, FF or FFF according to the seriousness of the offence. The mentioned procedure relates to all the activities that are included in the final evaluation of the course (seminar work, essays, tests etc.). Requirements (including the literature) are specified further in the interactive syllabus and the downloadable study plan before the semester starts.

2/1, zkouška – konkrétně 10 přednášek + 3 semináře (mimo prostory ESF MU, proto s dotací cca 3 vyučovacích hodin)SEMINÁŘE SE KONAJÍ MÍSTO PŘEDNÁŠEK - POTŘEBA POČÍTAT S DOTACÍ AŽ 3 VYUČOVACÍCH HODIN KVŮLI PŘESUNU MIMO A ZPĚT FAKULTY.
Struktura seminářů
Návštěva 3 vybraných typově odlišných kulturních organizací v Brně. Před návštěvou jsou studenti vyzváni k prostudování výročních zpráv, resp. zpráv o činnosti a hospodaření navštívených organizací, vč. obsahu internetových stránek. Na místě se setkají s manažerem, resp. ekonomicko-provozním vedoucím pracovníkem, popř. vedoucím marketingu organizace. Jejich prostřednictvím jsou konfrontováni jak s ekonomicko-provozními problémy organizace (v Brně), tak s problémy celé kulturní oblasti (v ČR), a to v kontextu kulturní politiky ČR, JMK a města Brna, vč. financování.
Konkrétní instituce je v daném semestru vybírána dle časových možností jejích manažerů.
1.Oblast živého umění (divadla, hudební kluby, kina – osvědčená spolupráce s Centrem experimentálního divadla, Klubem Fléda, Kinem Art, popř. Nočním motýlem – letní kino na Dobráku)
2.Oblast ochrany sbírek (muzea, galerie – osvědčená spolupráce s Moravským zemským muzeem a Moravskou galerií)
3.Oblast masmédií (rozhlas, televize – osvědčená spolupráce ČT Brno, ČRo Brno, Radio Proglas)
