Abstract
The course aims to develop students’ knowledge from the field of school management and counselling. The students will understand the underlying principles of the school as a specific organization. The course aims to develop students’ competencies for solving problems in the teaching profession.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is able: - to define basic concepts in the field of general management - to describe the structure of the educational system in the Czech Republic - to identify important factors influencing school culture - to discuss various possibilities of school evaluation - to distinguish functions of pedagogical workers - to analyze the organizational structure of the school - to apply knowledge on legislation into labor-law relations in schools - to analyze school documents and its’ role in school education - to describe the system of counselling in the Czech Republic - to identify relevant actors of counselling in schools - to explain their roles and opportunities for cooperation with parents.

Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Fulfillment of the attendance requirement in accordance with the valid Study and Examination Regulations and the instructions provided in the interactive syllabus is mandatory. Students who don’t meet the attendance requirement will not be allowed to complete the course. The level of student participation in compulsory classes is linked to additional assessment rules, which are described in detail in the interactive syllabus. Other assessment methods include formative feedback on assigned partial tasks and the portfolio task, a written knowledge test, and an oral examination.
