Students build on the knowledge gained in course b5011 Methodology. In this course, students carry on with the bachelor thesis preparation started in b5137 Bachelor Thesis 1 course.

Course objectives
The course aims to prepare the final version of the bachelor's thesis. The student builds on the final thesis project from the course b5137 Bachelor Thesis 1 and applies knowledge from courses devoted to methodology and data analysis. At this stage of the thesis preparation, students prepare the essential part dedicated to the professional output, verifying and demonstrating the previously acquired knowledge and experience. The professional outcome within the Physical Acitivity and Health study programme is, e.g. a personalised Intervention programme, designing a comprehensive annual training cycle, planning the training process using regenerative methods or modern tools for training response evaluation, etc. The thesis aims to complete the formation of the student's professional profile.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- understand the importance of working with data, its analysis and its use in a profession. More specifically, the preparation of the thesis will provide the student with the opportunity for professional growth in the areas of data collection, analysis, evaluation, and subsequent integration into the profession;
- work with the information, critically evaluate its quality, and synthesize the findings into a cohesive text or preparation of a practical section according to the thesis topic;
- independently organize their work, plan it and evaluate its results;
- based on data analysis, formulate conclusions that can be integrated into the professional outcomes preparation;
- defend the results of their work and lead a professional discussion on them.
Syllabus
  • Determination of the timetable for processing the thesis.
  • Fulfilment of the thesis aims (realisation of the practical part of the work).
  • Study of literature, work with academic texts, preparation of theoretical support for the practical part in the form of a literature review and the principles of correct citation (including citation software).
  • Follow-up and completion of the work in progress.
  • Data analysis, elaboration of the results section, discussion of results and formulation of conclusions.
  • Preparation of the professional outcome based on the data analysis;
  • Finalisation of the thesis texts according to the guidelines for preparing the thesis.
  • Completion and submission of the thesis.
  • Preparation for the defence of the thesis and final exams.

Teaching methods
Teaching within this subject takes place in the form of individual consultations with the supervisor according to a predetermined schedule.
Assessment methods
1. Fulfilling the set preparation schedule and consulting with the thesis supervisor according to a pre-agreed scheme (based on an individual agreement between the supervisor and the student).
2. Finalising and submitting the bachelor's thesis is conditional to fulfilling the course requirements.
