Course objectives
The aim of the subject is the practical mastery of movement skills from the field of swimming and swimming sports aimed at both prevention and subsequent resolution of conditions associated with various types of weakness with the aim of supporting the health of the running and sporting population across the age spectrum, including training for saving a drowning person.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate basic swimming competences and apply swimming skills in an individual concept of swimming technique;
- demonstrate personal intervention in saving a drowning person;
- apply practical skills from the field of swimming sports to create preventive swimming programs.
Syllabus
  • 1. Practice of basic swimming technique - breast stroke.
  • 2. Practice of basic swimming technique - crawl.
  • 3. Practice of basic swimming technique - backstroke.
  • 4. Practice of basic swimming technique - bow tie.
  • 5. Use of swimming aids, elemental swimming.
  • 6. Health swimming, error correction.
  • 7. Swimming for disabled people.
  • 8. Helping a tired swimmer, saving a drowning person.
  • 9. Improving the technique of all swimming methods with an emphasis on primary prevention.
  • 10. Other physical activities in the water.
  • 11. Demonstration of breaststroke technique in the basic movement pattern.
  • 12. Demonstration of the technique of swimming, a sign in the basic movement pattern.
  • 13. Demonstration of crawling swimming technique in the basic movement pattern.

Teaching methods
- practical teaching in the form of seminars
Assessment methods
- participation in seminars (2 absences are allowed);
- demonstration of swimming competences in the technique of breaststroke, backstroke and backstroke in the basic movement pattern and in personal intervention in the rescue of a drowning person;
- creation of a preventive swimming program with the application of health promotion principles for different population groups.
