- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is the implementation of applied forms of tourism and sports in nature and the practical application of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in the field practice of summer outdoor and sports disciplines. Under professional supervision, students will practice the examination of a sporting client and manual therapy techniques within the scope of the previous teaching. The course includes didactics of individual sports disciplines of treated clients.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate basic skills in outdoor and sports activities (MTB cycling, off-road orientation, movement on water and others);
- characterize models of increasing physical fitness of individual age categories, with special attention to children's categories, as prevention of overweight and obesity;
- apply diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in the field practice of summer outdoor and sports disciplines;
- search for pathology and correctly choose and implement an appropriate method of therapy in sports field practice;
- create a proposal for a preventive exercise and nutrition weekend program as a prevention of obesity in children's age groups;
- client education incl. autotherapy practice;
- plan a sports tourism event, ensure the safety of stay and movement in nature;
- create a proposal for a trip (walking, cycling). - Syllabus
- Practical training
- 1. Hiking (Nordic walking), cycling, watercraft control.
- 2. Field orientation, orienteering competitions.
- 3. Triathlon.
- 4. Sports games (softball, volleyball).
- Theoretical lectures, practice
- 1. Kinesiological analysis and physiotherapy of the client-runner.
- 2. Swimming techniques and their analysis, kinesiological analysis and physiotherapy of the client-swimmer.
- 3. Cycling and MTB techniques and their analysis, kinesiological analysis and physiotherapy of the client-cyclist.
- 4. Sport climbing techniques and their analysis, kinesiological analysis and physiotherapy of the client-sport climber.
- 5. Movement and nutritional prevention of obesity in children.
- 6. Forms of increasing physical fitness of individual age categories, specifics of sports disciplines (length of performance, injuries and injury prevention, load intensity).

- Teaching methods
- Teaching is carried out in a practical form in small groups of the summer training course. Students perform an analysis of the client's movement first under professional guidance, then independently. The movement analysis is extended by a comprehensive kinesiology analysis with the determination of a short-term and long-term physiotherapy plan. This plan is implemented during the course under the professional supervision of teachers.
- Assessment methods
- Practical exam, oral assessment. Written processing and successful defense of processed client case reports. The student must complete all the prescribed activities, usually 4. In order to successfully master it, it is necessary to complete at least 3 of them. The limit is determined according to the current weather conditions.
