- Abstract
- The goal of "Sports Physical Therapy 3" is to introduce students to the role of the physical therapist in the gym, teach basic exercises and exercise techniques, introduce the principles of loading after injury, and provide hands-on experience using a dynamometer to assess muscle strength. Students will also learn advanced techniques for improving strength and endurance and their application in training programs for athletes. Emphasis will be placed on the integration of physical therapy principles into training plans with regard to injury prevention and rehabilitation.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- Apply correct techniques of basic exercises;
- Design and implement rehabilitation programs for various types of injuries with respect to progressive loading;
- Use a dynamometer to assess muscle strength and interpret the results for rehabilitation purposes;
- Integrate physiotherapy principles into training plans. - Key topics
