- Course objectives
- The major aims of the subject are: to explain to students the importance of philosophical thinking, to develop their critical thinking ability and enable them to gain basic overview in the philosophical groundings of sport. In the newly applied model, the course focuses on issues of sports ethics and on the cultural dimension of contemporary ethical problems in sport. The course thus represents an extension of the foundations of the philosophy of sport towards ethics.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to - Explain the main topics in the philosophy of sport. - Analyse and discuss selected ethical issues in sport, such as doping, racism, technological challenges, fair play, and gender-related questions. - Engage critically with additional optional topics in sports ethics.

- Block teaching, lectures, discussions, home reading, group projects.
- Assessment methods
- Active participation in classes (50% in practical sessions), contribution to the development of the group project, and presentation of the group project.

- Part of the course may be completed asynchronously (recorded lectures). The group project involves preparation through forum discussions and other communication channels (email, social networks).
