Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to understand the interventions of international community in the Balkans since 1990, the activities of EU, UN, OSCE and NATO in the region, the relations between the EU and the Western Balkan countries.
Syllabus
  • Sylabus and the detailed information is enclosed in the study materials in the information system. The overview of the topics: Introduction into the Balkan studies, south-eastern Europe till 1990, Desintegration of Yugoslavia, Role of the IC as mediator of the BiH conflict, post-dayton BiH, cleavages in Serbia, Kosovo conflict and the IC, post-conflict reconstruction in Kosovo, conflict in Macedonia and its consequences.

Assessment methods
Requirements: presentation of the paper on selected topic (10 points), essay 2000-2500 words(20 points)and the final text (max 60 points, six questions, 10 points each). Totally can student reach 90 points, in order to pass an exam, he/she must obtain at least 54points.
