- Course objectives
- The main aim of the course is to analyse methodics of the process of enlargement and comparison of single waves of EC/EU enlargement, i.e. The Western enlargement (Great Britain, Ireland, Denmark), the first (Greece) and the second (Spain, Portugal) Southern enlargement, Northern enlargement (Sweden, Finland, Austria) and both Eastern enlargements. One component of the course is evaluation of the impact and the strategy shift during the Eastern enlargement of the EU. Attention is paid to relevant events of single enlargements and to their impacts on both Community and accessing countries' level.

- Regular reading, class discussion, presentation of videomaterials, mid-term testing, teacher's feedback.
- Assessment methods
- The course is finished by an exam. It requires fulfilling of semester tasks. The final grade will be calculated as a composite evaluation consisting of essay, mid-semester test and final test. Each part is evaluated in points. Detailed criteria and conditions can be found in the extended course programme in “Study Materials” IS MU.
