Course objectives
Understanding of traditional concepts of sociology of education in the context of current social development training and education. Critically understand the concepts of inclusive education and transformation requirements for function of education in post-industrial societies. Understand the current institutional and substantive situation of education in the Czech Republic and this situation in the course of the project subject to sociological analysis. Apprise of work of selected research institutes in the field of education in CR, EU and the world. Practice secondary analysis of data from research of education.

Teaching methods
creation of the project, team work, individual presentations, oral examination, written test, discussion of thematic movie
Assessment methods
Students collect points, whereas minimun needed to succesfully attend the course is 60 out of 100. The points are collected from following tasks: 1. Ongoing delivery of project drafts. The accuracy of content is assessed (10p). Shall the draft be delivered after deadline, 50% of assesment is withheld. 2. Elaborating of the case study team project. The extend is 1500 words +/- 5% per team member. The content as well as formal quality of the project are assessed. Shall the draft be delivered after deadline, 50% of assesment is withheld (40p). 3. Individual presentation of researcher or research institute that focus on education. The preparation of 3 pages in Power Point is required (10p). 4. Final oral exam assessing knowledge of the reader and ability to interpret social events associated to education by discussed concepts (40p).
