Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide general overview of the military policy problematic. Students should be able to understand and to explin three main topics: 1. theoretical conceptions of armed forces role in a democracy, 2. analysis of chosen segments of the military policy (recruiting of personal, military planning, economy of armed forces), 3. Czech armed forces transformation.

Military economy and planning-strategic documents of the Czech army, 7. Military acquisition and defense industry, 8. Private military companies, 9. Future armies, 10. Czech defense policy and military transformation I, 11. Czech defense policy and military transformation II, 12. Seminar thesis assessment, 13. Written exam

Assessment methods
Students can obtain 36 points total. They will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 6 points seminary thesis; 30 points final written exam. Grading: 34-36: A; 31-33: B; 28-30: C; 25-27: D; 22-24 E; 23-0: F.
