The exam has a written and an oral part. To each item from the list of compulsory literature, a position paper (PP) must be written approximately 20 pages long. In the PP, students sum up the main ideas of the text, analyse the main issues that they see in it and explore the meaning of the text considering the topic of their dissertation theses. Further on, a research design of approximately five pages must be elaborated according to students’ interests. However, this research design may, but need not, be identical with the dissertation thesis topic. All papers must be submitted by 2 June 2017 by uploading into the homework vaults in IS. The compulsory literature will be examined in a written test in the exam period. The test will consist of six open questions and students will be given 60 minutes to complete it. Afterwards the oral part will follow up.
