Course objectives
The course overviews the theoretical and research issues that currently form the field of new media studies. The students will be well oriented in the key theoretical and research approaches to new media and will be able to apply their knowledge of the problematics in research area.

  • Research on new media and new media users
  • New media and the critique of novelty
  • New media and the transformation of everyday life
  • New media and media audiences: participation in textuality and transformation of the relationship between audiences and broadcasters
  • New media, communities and social networking sites
  • New media, politics, activism and the public sphere
  • New media and structural transformation of current society: information society and digital divide
