- Abstract
- The course introduces the basic features of the work with information. It focuses on the ability to choose appropriate information sources according to the field of study. Students learn practical information retrieval techniques and work with databases. The course also deals with the principles of correct citation and methodology of writing thesis. At the end of this course students will be able to work more effectively with information resources in the field of their study.

- At the end of this course students will be able to work more effectively with information resources in the field of their study.

- 1)Introduction to the information resources
- 2)Information retrieval strategy, using operators
- 3)Basic types of electronic information resources
- 4)Information retrieval in databases
- 5)Writing thesis – methodology, work with the subject and key words
- 6)Citations – methodology, citation standards and styles
- Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
- The course is based on lectures and practical parts at the computers. Active participation of students in practical exercises is necessary.
- Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
- For completing the course writing a test, finishing a practical task and active participation in all lectures are required.
