Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain a basic overview of the legal regulation, subject and content of international economic law. The focus of the course is on the law of the World Trade Organization as the primary regulator of global economic relations and an understanding of the relationship between protectionism and liberalization in international trade. At the same time, the aim is to learn about the activities of the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Bank. Other issues in the field of international economic law such as international investment law, avoidance of double taxation, and international transport law are also covered.
Learning outcomes
By completing this course the student will be able to: - Explain the position of protectionism and liberalization as underlying principles in the regulation of international economic relations; - explain the functioning and legal regulation given by the World Trade Organization; - describe the functioning of other international economic organisations; - explain the issues of international investment law; - describe other areas of legal regulation of international economic relations.

Teaching methods
Teaching will be carried out: Frontal teaching method with the personal participation of the student in the faculty building when an initial mandatory consultation will take place including the definition of the issues and systematics, key concepts and institutes, assignment of the course completion. Synchronous form through three continuous mandatory group consultations implemented in MS Teams environment, the following methods will be implemented (to be selected according to the reality): group and cooperative learning, critical thinking, project-based learning, problem solving from practice, brainstorming, emphasis will be placed on providing feedback, not frontal teaching Asynchronous form (individual guided self-study) from supplied materials in the IS and/or textbooks (study texts, video, podcasts, presentations with audio track and other interactive material
