- Course objectives
- The relation between international and national law is examined from the point of view of international law and from the point of view of national law (constitutional law) as well. The main topic are international treaties and their position in national law, including their interpretation and application by national organs. Students will become able to apply international treaties in the field of national law.
- Learning outcomes
- - Student will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the relation between the two legal orders. - student will be able to identify the controversial points in the relation of international and Czech law. - Student will be able to critically think on international and domestic law. . Student will understand a broader legal background of the relation between international and domestic law.
- Syllabus
- 1. The concepts of the relation between international and national law. 2. Transformation of international treaties into the national law. 3. International treaties in Czech law (Art. 10 of the Czech Constitution). 4. Special kinds of International treaties (Art. 10a of the Czech Constitution).
