Prerequisites
The students who successfully passed four-term course in Russian for Lawyers can sit for the examination. Each term is expected to be completed and four credits entered.

Syllabus
  • The requirements for sitting for the examination in Language I. - Russian for Lawyers: 1. four credits, each term completed 2. successful written part of the examination (80%) 3. oral part of the examination - topic presentation and discussion, understanding the Russian text for specific purposes and its brief summary 4. both oral and written parts are assessed Topics: 1. University studies, Masaryk University and the Faculty of Law, Categories of Law 2. What is law? Roman Law, etc. 3. Civil Law and its characteristics, the content of obligation 4. The Law of Succession 5. Family Law 6. Electoral System and the Parliament 7. Privatisation, market economy, legal entities, state and economy 8. Business Law and Fair Competition Act 9. Employment Law, contracts of employment 10.Judicial institutions, the principle of independence 11.Judicial proceeding and its characteristics, principles of Procedural Law 12.Judicial expertise, different kinds 13.Crime and criminal Law 14.The development of Criminology, methods of investigation 15.Preliminary investigation, the duties of public prosecutor 16.Judicial procedure 17.Crime and Punishment 18.Different kinds of crimes 19.International Law, the UNO 20.International protection of the environment, international treaties.
