Abstract
The course aims to introduce students to the economical specifics in healthcare and give them the opportunity to try selected techniques in various case studies.
The subject will also acquaint students with essential economic and other contexts in business activities in the healthcare sector.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course, a student:
- gain insight into the economics of health care and understand the basic context;
- explain the role of information in decision-making processes in healthcare;
- enriches its view of the functioning of health services with economic aspects;
- understand the basics of business activity and possibly building one's own practice;
- explain basic financial principles;
- understand the basic mechanisms of healthcare financing.
