Course objectives
Pediatric is interested in diagnostic,treatment and prevention in childhood.There are specific differences in childhood,different diagnostic tools and speciál care. After the participation in the course students will be able to recognize and evaluate the state of the newborn after the delivery and during the transitional period, perfom the basic screenings, uderstand of the impact of congenital and inherited diseases on children and their families. The target of the lectures is the deep knowledge of the students of most frequent disorders, basic diagnosis and therapeutical procedures in pediatrics.
Learning outcomes
The student has knowledge of the origin, course, treatment and prognosis of the most common childhood diseases. The student is able to define risk factors that threaten the healthy development of the child.
Syllabus
  • The field of pediatrics. Child care management. Preventive measures in pediatrics. Social issues in pediatrics. Age categories, growht and development during childhood. Nutrition during childhood. Feeding of infants - breast feeding,formula feeding, nutritional disorders. Disorders of the psychosomatic development in early childhood. Inborn errors of metabolism. Diseases of the blood circulation system. Diseases of the blood and haemopoietic organs. Diseases of the respiratory systém. Diseases of the digestive systém. Diseases of the kidneys and urogenital tract. Diseases of endocrine flands. Diseases of the nervous systém. Diseases of the immunity system, allergies in children. Diseases of the skin. Acute conditions in paediatrics.
