Course objectives
Main objective can be summarized as practical kwnoledge and necessary skills in obstetrics. It presents the basic subject for the future professional activities of midwives. The target of the lectures is the deep knowledge of the students of the stages of pregancy, delivery and possible pathologies. In different diagnosis the prevention, diagnosis procedures and therapy are treated.
Learning outcomes
The student knows the basic procedures for taking a medical history.
The student knows the methods of physical examination in obstetrics and gynecology.
The student has an overview of the most commonly used laboratory methods.
The student is proficient in basic imaging methods.
The student is proficient in the technical aspects of basic invasive procedures, their instrumentation, and the care of the patient during the period of surgery.
The student is oriented in basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Describes and demonstrates on a model the procedure and technique of gynecologic examination.
The student is proficient in making, reviewing, and evaluating a CTG record.

The student is proficient in the preparation, assessment and evaluation of a CTG record.
Syllabus
  • The program aims to give the students a broad spectrum of practical kwnoledge in obstetrics. It presents the basic subject for the future professional activities of midwives. The target of the lectures is the deep knowledge of the students of:
  • pregnancy and possible pathologies, course and conduct of normal labour and delivery, complications of pregnancym the infant, preeclampsia, elampsia, hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, distocia, operative delivery, emotional aspects of pregnancy genetics, prenatal diagnostics.

Teaching methods
Propedeutical part is oriented on vital funcitons examination, pregnancy examination a understanding of examination results. Active work with documentation. Teaching schedule includes theoretical session, teaching and learning with simulators and patients and students formative assessment of clinical case.
