Course objectives
The course is taught as theoretical - practical. Teaching reflects clinical practice in internal workplaces. Theoretical instruction takes the form of exercises in the classroom. The task is to synthesize the acquired knowledge and prepare for practical instruction. The student will practice effective solution of nursing problems in patients with internal diseases. Attention will be paid to the creation of a nursing plan using nursing diagnoses, interventions and expected results of nursing care.
Learning outcomes
Student after completing the course: - Knows the basic internal diseases - Knows the diagnosis of internal diseases, including laboratory methods - Knows the basics of treatment of individual diseases, including basic drugs and how to administer them - Can provide nursing care to a patient in an internal ward - Can draw up an individual nursing plan for selected internal diseases

  • basic examination methods, laboratory methods - method of biological material collection, interpretation of results of biochemical and hematological examination of blood, specifics of nursing care in patients with internal diseases, specifics of nursing care in geriatric patients

Teaching takes the form of discussion and practical exercises based on model situations - in a patient with a specific internal diagnosis. Group work of students, presentation of case reports from clinical environment, attendance (maximal one absence)
