Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the principles of Evidence Based Practice and Evidence Based Healthcare and to emphasise their importance in healthcare. They will learn about the hierarchy of evidence, types of secondary research and the first steps in developing a systematic review according to the PRISMA statement.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will know:
- basic principles and historical background of Evidence-Based Practice and Healthcare;
- types of clinical questions;
- the hierarchy and types of scientific evidence, sources for finding evidence;
- the principles of developing a search strategy and its reporting;
- the steps involved in the development of a systematic review;

Assessment methods
REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THE CREDIT:
1. The condition for the award of credit is a minimum of 80% attendance (maximum 20% absence in case of an excuse from the study department), continuous performance of the assigned tasks and 75% success in the credit test.
4. Active participation during the seminars/lectures.
