- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Abstract
- The main objective of the course is that student become acquainted with the system of working at a clinical department. In the end of intership the student has been adapted in the foreign country, oriented in the school or department, has specific experience and knowledge that were obtained during their stay.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing an internship abroad, the student:
- demonstrates the expansion of professional knowledge and skills in the field of medicine
- applies theoretical knowledge in clinical or research practice corresponding to the focus of the internship
- develops clinical, communication and intercultural competences when working in an international environment
- reflects on their own experience and identifies the benefit of the completed activity for their further professional development
- Key topics
- clinical practice according to the internship plan created in cooperation with the internship guarantor and the study guarantor
- diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an international context
- healthcare organization and healthcare systems abroad
- communication with the patient and healthcare team in a multicultural environment
- ethical and legal aspects of healthcare provision
- current trends and innovations in medicine (e.g. new technologies, evidence-based medicine)
- Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
- clinical observation, assistance, workshops, simulations
- case studies and discussions
- involvement in workplace activities
- reflection on acquired experiences
- interim and final evaluation provided by the host institution
- Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
- Credit is awarded after submitting relevant documentation after the end of the summer school abroad.
