Course objectives
Student: - Will use different methods to assess the client in health and disease through selected theories and models taking into account the specific needs of clients and their families in emergency care.
- Will be able to respond to problem situations arising in connection with the practice.
- Briefly describes the historical background of medicine and nursing in the Czech Republic and in the global context.
- With the issue of health and disease.
- Characterizes the global, European and national strategy for health management.
- Explain the concept of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and care.
- Characterizes the new concept of art and its goals.
- Explain the concept of community care.
- Defines the field as a scientific discipline in the context of other disciplines.
- Uses erudite terminology.
- Interprets the organizational systems of nursing - understand and explain the management of quality of care in health care.
Syllabus
  • Subject matter: - History of nursing and medicine, evolution of nursing education, community care history;
  • - Health - economical, political conditions and principles, importance of environment for health and illness;
  • - European strategy of health care, Health 21 programme and other international activities, primary healt care and prevention (possibilities of primary prevention);
  • - Basic terminology;
  • - Profession – new strategy;
  • - Methodology – nursing process as a practise method (history, definition and phases, their analysis, NANDA, NIC, NOC, benefits for nurses and client);
  • - Health care quality management – quality evaluation, systems of work, standards, audit, evaluation, accreditation, registration, community care;
