Course objectives
The course is divided into three areas: public health, community care, home and palliative care. The aim of the course is Public Health: • Understand the definition of health and be able to define health. • To be familiar with the concepts   multifactorial diseases and statistical indicators. • Be aware of criteria for evaluating health. • Know the legal and legislative regulations state health policy and the EU. • Learn the key strategies     WHO to promote health. • Understand the components of health. • Be able to apply the principles of long term program to improve the health status of the population. • Adopt the role of paramedical staff in health education at   all ages of the population, and in primary and community care. Knowing means of addressing population, the effects of mass media, become familiar with social marketing as an effective method. • To be familiar with   international classifications and indices statistics   health policy of the state. Community Care aim of the course is: • Understand the concept of community. • To be familiar with the main functions of the community. • Understand the importance of healthy social and natural environment for human health • To be familiar with the possibilities of   health and social services within the community care  . The aim of the course home and palliative care: • Ability to define home care. • Adopt the philosophy of home care. • Learn the basic organizational structure of home care. • To be familiar with the     interdisciplinary approach in home care. • Be aware of differences in the provision of care in their own social environment of the client. • Be aware of the specifics of working conditions in   home care. • Ability to define palliative care. • To be familiar with   organizational structure   hospice care in the Czech Republic. • Be aware of differences in the provision of nursing care in a hospice  .
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be: - understand the definition of health and to be able to define health. - Familiar with multifactorial concept of disease and statistical indicators. • will spell out the criteria for the evaluation of health. • become familiar with legal and legislative provisions of the state health policy and the EU. • Get acquainted with the key strategies the WHO the promotion of health. • understands the components of health. • apply the principles of long-term program to improve the health status of the population. • Takes on the role of non-physician health worker in health education at the of all ages of the population, and that in the primary and community care. Know the means of reaching the population, exposure to mass media, to get acquainted with the social marketinkem as an effective method. • Get acquainted with the of the international classifications and indicators of statistics in the field of health policy of the state. Syllabus
  • The definition of health and the concept of illness, assessment of health, basic documents in the world and in   CR law by   protection of public health issues long term program to improve the health status of the population and its content priority component of health promotion, the role of health professionals in health education, social marketing as an effective method activities     care about the health effects, including mass media, consultancy and advisory health promotion and disease prevention, the key strategies in   WHO health promotion. Types and forms Terms of use of health services and their provision of international classifications and statistical ukazazele. Community and human. Caring for     mental health in the community. Dependence on alcohol, drugs and smoking in the   community. CAN syndrome. Home and palliative care. Basic Terminology home care (DP). DP developments in the world and in   CR conditions for development. The structure of the agencies DP   CR. Indications, the most frequent diagnoses of clients. Horizontal management and utilization. Contract for the provision of   DP, nursing documentation. Specifics of interdisciplinary cooperation. Cooperation with self-help groups and volunteers. Specific working conditions and education of nurses in   DP. Cooperation with   family. Meeting the needs of family members. Basic terminology   palliative care. Ensuring palliative care in   CR. Specifics of palliative care.
