Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with a comprehensive approach to the effect of the active substances in the body with emphasis on the impact of food during pharmacotherapy. An integral part of this issue is now a large market for food supplements. Understanding the therapeutic value of medicinal products and the impact of dietary supplements is the basis for rational pharmacotherapy.

  • Objectives and instruments of clinical pharmacology. Definitions . Law and clinical pharmacology. Information sources in   medicine. Second Basic principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics . 3rd Basic types of drug interactions. 4th Individualization of therapy. Pharmacogenetics . Patient compliance . 5th Methodology of clinical trials . Pharmacovigilance . 6th Pharmacoeconomics . Pharmacoepidemiology . 7th Drug interactions and Nutrition (CNS , PNS, KVS , GIT ) . 8th Drug interactions and Nutrition (diuretics , antibiotics , medicines in oncology   , vitamins and minerals ) . 9th The biological activity of selected foods (the issue of secondary metabolites). 10th Nutritional supplements ( nutraceuticals ) - definition , legislation (Czech Republic, EU ) requirements , the use of (Czech Republic, EU , etc.). 11th Dietary Supplements - CNS and the immune system ( adaptogens , immunostimulants , antioxidants) . 12th Dietary Supplements - GIT and genitourinary tract . 13th Nutritional supplements - weight loss . 14th Case reports - basic clinical problems from the perspective   nutritionist .
