Course objectives
Acquisition of knowledge in highly specialized intensive care nursing, which applies to the care of chronically ill patients with various organ systems with long-term mechanical ventilation.
The output is obtaining the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical skills and activities that are needed in providing professional intensive nursing care for patients on the wards chronic intensive care and resuscitation or mechanical ventilation in home care.
Learning outcomes
- Apply the concept of stimulating perception in working practices - Perform highly specialized nursing care for patients in vigilant coma, persistent and permanent vegetative state - apply the hygiene regime - use trends in wound healing - Provide comprehensive highly specialized nursing care for patients requiring UPV including the risks and complications associated with them and to participate in their solution - Communicate with the patient on UPV - Monitor the functionality of the instrumentation technician to perform the UPV and ensure its continued readiness - Perform comprehensive highly specialized nursing care for a patient with a disorder of consciousness - Apply psychological aspects of nursing care in intensive medicine - Tackle pain relief
