- Optics and Optometry (programme LF, B-OPOP)
- Optics and Optometry (programme LF, B-SZ) (2)
- Course objectives
- The goal of education is to learn to practical skills, which are needed for opticians. After finishing this exercise a student will be able to measure spherical lenses with different methods, to centre spherical lenses, to cut spherical lenses, to know combination of top and plane facet (Franklin’s bifocal), to know how to fill working card and how to tax medical prescription and anatomical modification of the spectacles. Also he measures and works with cylindrical lenses, he evaluates and practically centers and de-centers cylindrical lenses and cuts CR-39.

A prerequisite for access to the credit is the correct measurement of optical power and other optical parameters of optical correction aids. In the last block of practice, the student determines the parameters for 5 correction aids in a time up to 30 minutes. The credit consists of grinding spectacle lenses to frames according to the assignment, glasses repair, fulfillment of prescription, filliing in the contracts. All within 3 hours (180 minutes).
