Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
The course of Practical Language 3A-C1 provides students with an opportunity to further develop their language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in a strictly interactive format, such as group discussions, language practice, written seminar papers, learning videos and presentations. The course makes it possible for the students to experience varied techniques and methods of foreign language learning. Work in class is organised in learning centres facilitated both by the teacher and students.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Continuous assessment consists of active participation in learning centres, regular contributions to discussion forums, and work with online materials. The course is concluded by an oral exam where students demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge of the principles of ELT methodology and their ability of thorough analysis of the artifacts in their teaching portfolios. The course outputs also include a portfolio task.
