Abstract
The course serves for the technical implementation of the test, which is to prove students' knowledge of biology at the gymnasium level. Without successfully completing this subject, a student cannot enroll in any of the following subjects in the Natural History with a focus on education program. (The subject Introduction to Biology is a prerequisite for all other biology subjects - it must be completed in order for the student to enroll in other biology subjects.) The aim of the subject is for the student to have a good foundation of knowledge and understanding in biology, which they can build on in their university biology studies. Required topics for gymnasium biology: 1. General biology 2. Virus biology 3. Bacterial biology 4. Protist biology 5. Fungal biology 6. Plant biology 7. Animal biology 8. Human biology 9. Genetics 10. Ecology.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to: answer questions regarding knowledge of high school biology to the extent necessary for the study of subjects in the field of Natural History with a focus on education.
Key topics
1. General biology 2. Biology of viruses 3. Biology of bacteria 4. Biology of protists 5. Biology of fungi 6. Biology of plants 7. Biology of animals 8. Biology of humans 9. Genetics 10. Ecology.

Teacher's information
Newly admitted bachelor's degree students in Natural Science with a focus on education take an entrance test in biology in the first week of the first semester. The course is used for the technical implementation of this test. Students will be notified of the details by email before testing begins. Students who do not pass this test in the first week of the semester must complete the missing knowledge of high school biology (at the high school level) in order to successfully pass the test in the examination period of the 1st semester. Without successful completion of this course, the student cannot enroll in any of the following courses in the Natural History program with a focus on education, because the course Introduction to the Study of Biology is a so-called prerequisite in all other subjects. (If a prerequisite is listed for a subject, it means that the student can enroll in it only if he / she meets the prerequisite). These students are recommended to complete the elective course Repetitorium of Secondary School Biology, which will take place in the 1st semester in the distance education regime and which includes free voluntary self-testing of biology knowledge at the high school level. Required topics from high school biology: 1. General biology 2. Biology of viruses 3. Biology of bacteria 4. Biology of protists 5. Biology of fungi 6. Biology of plants 7. Biology of animals 8. Biology of humans 9. Genetics 10. Ecology.
