Course objectives
This course follows Practical Language 1. The aim of the French language exercises is to practice selected phenomena of French grammar and vocabulary and their application when working with various types of texts and authentic materials related to the pedagogical focus of the study program. The subject responds to current events in the given language area also thanks to the regular update of the textbook used (newly Défi 3). It also includes group work on the eduScrum project on a given topic with a presentation of the output - a created video. Students deepen their communication competences (linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic) at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (2001) and its Supplement from 2021. They practice individual speech skills (interaction, independent oral expression, mediation, listening, reading or writing) and linguistic competences at the level of knowledge and their correct application (in the areas of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary). The subject responds to current events in the given language area. The emphasis is placed primarily on explaining and practicing the included grammatical phenomena and irregular verbs. The innovated course also includes group work on the eduScrum project on a given topic with a presentation of the assigned outputs. Thanks to the innovation of the content and teaching methods of the subject, they can also develop autonomous learning and key 21st century competencies through cooperation and communication in a group, critical thinking and developing creativity.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students will have the following professional knowledge and skills, as well as general competencies: Professional knowledge and skills After completing this subject, the student demonstrates the ability to: • understand texts and reports dealing with current social events, • reformulate the content of these texts in writing and orally, • analyze and correctly apply grammatical structures at the appropriate level (B1+), • communicate in French on topics related to the vocabulary covered fluently and spontaneously, • actively participate in discussions on familiar topics, write essays or reports, and convey information. General skills (competences) After completing this subject, the student demonstrates the ability to: • communicate in a team and externally • work in a team according to their own learning style • choose appropriate strategies for working on a given task • contribute creatively to the creation of a joint output • critically evaluate and reflect on their own work and the work of team members • present the results of their work • evaluate the presentations of their peers.
Syllabus
• Communication, listening, reading and writing. • Grammar, vocabulary, phraseology and work with texts based on complex teaching units in the textbook and using other documents (current authentic materials according to current events). • eduScrum project – according to the stages of project teaching: o 1/ project plan: assignment of the topic and output by teachers (goal: video recording) o 2/ planning the process of working on the assigned project (creating groups, assigning roles, determining the procedure) o 3/ work on the project o 4/ presentation of outputs (videos) – uploading outputs to a shared platform (Padlet) o 5/ evaluation and reflection (peer feedback according to specified criteria, teacher evaluation, joint and individual reflection) • Interaction, mediation.

Assessment methods
Ending 2 cr.: credit. Requirements: participation in the seminar, completion of continuously assigned tasks, test of the lessons covered (min. 70%). Active participation in the eduScrum project and completed tasks. When presenting the output (with recorded video or audio material), the possibility of increasing the load by 1 credit.
