Abstract
The course introduces students to the study of the subject German as a foreign language. It will be explained in the following key issues: foreign language teaching; Methods of foreign language instruction; Related disciplines of language teaching; Questions and methods of language teaching language learning research, GFL didactics.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will know the basic concepts of foreign language didactics (in relation to the topics mentioned above) and will be able to explain them and relate them to different contexts.

Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
