Course objectives
The aim is understand the cultural and historical context of the Slovaks (one of the minorities in the Czech Republic).
Learning outcomes
- get an orientation in Slovak history
- read the Slovak text
-Comparate Slovak and Czech history in selected periods
- to name the historical deteminants of the Slovaks

  • History and culture in prehistoric times. History and culture in Ancient times. History and culture in the Middle ages. History and culture in the Reformation time, Turkish expansion, the uprisings against the Habsburgs. Slovak National Revival. Slovakia in Austria - Hungury. Slovaks in the World War I. Slovaks in Czechoslovakia. Slovakia during World War II. The Slovac Republic today - current problems. UNESCO in Slovakia.
