- Course objectives
- Students understand the basic concepts of general and specific psychopathology, it is understood in the context of relationships and is able to apply the knowledge gained in the area of mental health promotion and prevention of mental illness.
- Syllabus
- 1. Psychopathology and its importance for teachers
- 2. Normal personality, mental diseases (history and present)
- 3. Mental diseases – aetiology
- 4. Psychic functions disorders (consciousness, perception, memory, emotions...)
- 5. Neurotic disorders. Stress.
- 6. Helping professions and burnout syndrome
- 7. Post-traumatic disorder
- 8. Behavioral disturbance
- 9. Mental disorders
- 10. Schizophrenia and cognate disorders
- 11. Affective disorders
- 12. Organic mental disorders
- 13. Eating disorders
- 14. Prevention and psychical health support

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical training, instruction is through lectures, students are continuously engaged independent preparation of the recommended materials. Theoretical preparation – lectures supported by chosen extracts from special video programmes.
- Assessment methods
- Exam (written form and verbal exam). Written test consisting of 70 questions. If they answer 55 questions correctly, they pass the test. After evaluation, a discussion follows in which the correct answers of previously asked questions are repeated and explained again.
