Course objectives
The aim is to deepen understanding of the phonetics and phonology, and especially practical acquaintance with the phonetic system of the Russian language. Consolidation and practice proper pronunciation of Russian sounds, and the reduction palatalizace and compare the differences between Czech and Russian. Repeat for all kinds of transcription and intonation structure. Improving speaking students from a phonetic and phonological exercises through drilových and listening to audio recordings. The emphasis is on the correct pronunciation of Russian sounds, and good intonation.

  • 1. Intonation in Simple sentence. IK-1. Declarative sentence. 2. Stressed Russian vowels i y, ja, jo, ju, je. 3. Dividing sentence into syntagms.4. Unstressed vowels o, a, je, a (graphical ja). 5. IK 2. Intonation in interrogative sentence with interrogative word. Voiced and un-voiced consonants. 6. Intonation in interrogative sentence without interrogative word. 7. Intonation in interrogative sentence with particles nu, tak, vsjo-taki. 8. Interrogative sentences with specification. 9. Special intonation in interrogative sentences. 10. Intonation construct in emotionally-colored sentences. 11. Intonation particularities in poems and prose.

Teaching methods
Performing assigned tasks, individual work with literature and printing, we recommend listening to the Russian language and practice the correct pronunciation of the Russian-language reading texts.
Assessment methods
Attendance 80% (two absences allowed). The course finishes with a credit, which consists of both oral and written part. The written part – the test (transcription, intonation). The oral part – short texts reading, poems recitation. The correct pronunciation and intonation is evaluated.
