Course objectives
The seminar focuses on the interpretation of selected works of Czech poetry and prose published in the years 1890-1918. Students will be able to identify and analyze the style of outstanding personalities of the literary process of the period in question.
Syllabus
  • 1. General introduction to the interpretation of a literary work. 2. Interpretation of selected pieces of poetry. 3. Interpretation of selected pieces of prose.

Teaching methods
Students will get an insight into the trends of Czech literature of the period in question, as well as into the specific nature of the poetics of individual literary movements. They will be able to identify and analyze the style of outstanding personalities, significant for the particular period.
Assessment methods
Type of course: seminar. Type of completion: credit. Credit requirements: oral presentation and active participation (students can be three times absent).
