Course objectives
At the end of the course, students should be able to - deal with fiction in analytical way - understand German literature of Prague not as a "magical" cliche but as a complex system of texts and issues.

  • 1989 in shorter German fiction Wolf, Maron, Brussig, Braun, Schulze, Delius, etc.
Literature
  • Grub, Frank Thomas: Wende und Einheit im Spiegel der deutschsprachigen Literatur
  • Krauss, Hannes (Hg.): Vom Nullpunkt zur Wende.
Teaching methods
Seminar: reading, presenting results of literature search, discussion.
Assessment methods
For 1 ECTS point: reading, submitted responses to questions on reading, regular attendance, discussions in class For 2 ECTS points: additional essay
