Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with different types of literary forms (eg. Saying, counting-out game, a short story, a fable, a poem, an excerpt from the novel) and their use in the classroom. An important part of the seminar is to teach students strategies selection of literary texts in accordance with their language skills and enjoy various activities for working with literary texts.
Syllabus
  • 1. Strategy selection of literary texts to work with different age groups of students. 2. Possibilities selection of literary texts in relation to the language level of students. 3. The role of motivation in choosing a literary text. 4. Procedures work with a literary text. Options and strategies. 5. Club activities for preparation to work with literary texts. 6. Procedures for fiction reading. 7. Strategies for working with understanding the text. 8. Exercise, activity, checking understanding a literary text. 9. Specifics of work with the prosaic text. 10. Specifics of work with a poetic text. 11. Language activities while working with a literary text. 12. semantic and pragmatic strategies for working with text.

Teaching methods
Students will actively process of preparation to the topic on the basis of selected examples of text and create methodical instructions for working with a literary text in teaching Russian.
Assessment methods
Students study compulsory literature and based on a methodological study materials processed leaf on a chosen topic.
