Mastering the graphic system of Russian language. Studying the introductory lesson (Lesson 0) Učebnice současné ruštiny (Olga Belintseva, Adam Janek).

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop reading skills, basic speaking and writing skills, practicing correct pronunciation and intonation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to actively use Russian language in a wide range of communicative situations at A1 level. They also will be able to apply in practice new vocabulary (in dialogue and monologue). The students will get familiar with the basic rules of Russian spelling and will be able to apply these rules in writing. The students will be able to understand the standards of Russian pronunciation and intonation.

Teaching methods
Course of practical Russian. Regular preparаtion for classes, homework, listening and reading Russian texts.
Assessment methods
A final test consists of written and oral parts. After a successful completion of the written part, students are allowed to take part in the oral test, which includes:
- conversation with the teacher
- discussion of a Russian book that the student had to choose and read for the test (30-50 pages);
- discussion of a Russian movie that the student had to choose and watch for the test.
Students have to create a glossary of new words from the book they selected and bring it to the oral part of the test. (min. 50 words).
