Course objectives
The course is designed as an introductory course for students. The primary objective is to introduce Brno as a place of students´ study from the perspective of geography.
Learning outcomes
After a course the student will be able to:
- Identify important geographical features in Brno.
- Use basic geographic concepts.
- Orientate in the city. Work with a map, a plan, compass, GPS, geographic applications in   mobile / tablet.
- Prepare an sketch - panoramic / topographical.
- Identify and explain the basic relations between the natural and socio-economic components of the landscape.
- Use simple geographical methods to work in a   model area.
Syllabus
  • 1. The location of Brno in the region   (at micro, meso and macro level). Important specifics Brno on national and international scale. Brno thematically - university, exhibition, office, industry ...
  • 2. Cognition of Brno by modern information technologies - Brno outlooks.
  • 3. Visit of important institutions in Brno associated with geographic education (eg. Observatory, Vida ...).
  • Feedback on all activities will take place within the individual modules in form of icebreaker activity.
