Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint future teachers (independently of the field) with the possibility of using modern board games in the educational process. Students will be acquainted with the theory related to games in pedagogy, as well as with practical examples (playing) of board games.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to: - identify appropriate games for their teaching practice - appropriately involve games in the learning process - organize lessons with a view to the involvement of board games - understand the use of board games in educational work - Help other colleagues in the workplace to select board games and engage them in lessons - Playing modern board games and properly explaining their rules and goals to pupils

  • 1. Game as a concept (Huizinga, Ellington, ...) 2. Game in pedagogy (theoretical background) 3. GBL (Game-Based Learning) 4. Games and motivation 5. History of board games 6. Modern board games 7. Division of board games 8. Board games in educational environment 9. Board games usable in teaching (examples) Each lesson is accompanied by a demonstration of specific degrees, which students practically try. Titles used in this subject include Timeline games, Story Cubes, Ekopolis, Multipolis, Earth, Robo Rally, Imagine !, Code Names and more.
