- Course objectives
- Student provides basic information on assessment of hearing impairments and methods of assessment, possible ways of cooperation between a special needs teacher and other professionals.
- Learning outcomes
- The student is oriented in the diagnostics of auditory defects and methods of special pedagogical diagnostics - surdopedic; it focuses on the possibilities of diagnostics in the period of preparation for compulsory school attendance and vocational training children and pupils with hearing impairment; can describe a system of early intervention in children with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic; is able to state the working methods and the importance of teamwork of experts participating in the care of an individual with hearing impairment at an early age.

- Assessment methods
- Case study of a child with hearing impairment, Comprehensive report (2-3 pages) about possibilities of early assessment and further care for children with hearing impairments in the Czech Republic. Written test (it is necessary to successfully cope with 75% correct answers).
