The basic study material is New English File Upper Intermediate. The students are expected to be acquainted with the first four files and those who did not pass Practical language 2A and 2B have to take a test that covers the syllabus of the two courses. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at B1 - B2 level. The basic study material is coursebook New English File Upper-Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials.
At the end of the course students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at upper-intermediate level and communicate in the language fluently. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks. - Learning outcomes

- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook New English File UPPER- INTERMEDIATE (Student's book and Workbook), see Literature below. The syllabus includes Units 5 - 6, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and development of students' vocabulary.

- Requirements: Maximum number of points per semester: 200 Pass mark: 140 (part of this sum is also the final written test, students must obtain at least 70% for this final test - if not: two resits of the final test are offered) Written test: 80 points Oral test: 60 points (students gather points that are added to the total sum of points, oral tests do not have resits) Placement test: 10 points Progress test: max 10 points. Other types of continuous assessment: 40 points (journal; active participation in seminars) FURTHER INFORMATION ON POINTS: PROGRESS TEST: 100-95% 10 POINTS; 94-85% 9 POINTS; 84-75% 8 POINTS; 74-70% 7 POINTS; LESS THAN 70% 1 POINT
