Course objectives
This internationally oriented course is specifically designed for teachers, future teachers, teacher assistants, academics and, students in the Physical Education area. The participants will be presented with various PE concepts and different approaches toward designing and realising physical education both in the historical and current perspective.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the participants will recognise and understand the basic PE concepts in the world. They will be able to discuss and compare the fundamental historical and current factors effecting the teaching of physical education.
Syllabus
  • The most known systems of sport and physical education in the world history. Sketch of sport and physical education evolution in the world regions and sketch of school physical education development. Current physical education concepts. Concepts of school physical education, aims of physical education and their forming. Current concepts, problems and prospects of physical education in the world. International and comparative research in physical education curriculum.
