Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will: Know the basic concepts of labour market and employment, be able to write a good resume and cover letter, be prepared for a job interview, understand the fundamental issues of contracts between the employee and the employer, be aware of the risks of illegal work, know about services of Public Employment Agency and ČSSZ, be aware of students responsibilities due to social and health insurance, understand basic business requirements.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to define the basic concepts of the labor market and employment, able to write a good CV and motivation letter, ready for a job interview, understand contractual relations between the employee and the employer, able to orientate in the termination of the employment relationship, to know the risks of illegal work, labor office services and the ČSSZ, to know their obligations with regard to social and health insurance, to understand the basic requirements of the business.
Syllabus
  • 1. Basic concepts of labour market and employment. 2. Resume and cover letter. 3. Job interview. 4. Employment contracts, tax declaration for students. 5. Risks of illegal work. 6. Termination of employment contracts, redundancy pay, „what to do if employer does not pay“. 7. Public Employment Agency and ČSSZ – counseling about labour market. 8. Social and health insurance from the perspective of a student and a graduate student. Sickness insurance. Students over 26 years. 9. Business – assumptions, gaining trade certificate, social and health insurance issues, problems and perspectives of the business. 10. Teaching profession and its position on the labour market. 11. Study and interships abroad.
