Course objectives
Specific goals are set at the level of values / attitudes, skills and content. The aim is therefore to develop our own competent attitudes towards an environmentally friendly lifestyle, incl. engaging skills, providing students with tools and examples useful for their future practice, as well as helping to learn the basics of environmental thinking.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to apply the knowledge into practice.
Syllabus
  • Syllabus of seminars (in weeks or blocks): 1st week: Basics of Environmental Education. 2nd week: Methodological Specifics of EEC 3rd week: Current environmental issues and their application in teaching 4th week: Ecosystem services and their application in teaching 5th week: Sustainability at personal, regional and global level 6th week: The role of nonprofit organizations, EE centers and networks, information centers, campaigns and awareness raising events 7th week: Regional education and regional textbooks, school as a community center 8th week: Examples of an environmentally-friendly (more responsible) way of life 9th week: Excursion in the center of environmental education - an example of good practice 10th week: Outdoor activities within environmental education 11th week: Research-oriented lessons, We learn in the garden 12th week: Students’ practical demonstrations of activating methods usable in EEC .

Teaching methods
Block lessons in the form of seminar exercises requiring activity, involvement in prepared exercises and tasks and individual preparation. Deepening self-study of students leading to the presentation of their own eco-educating project.
Assessment methods
Individual work of students: to create a seminar work - essay reacting to a selected book from the field, group work on own eco-educating project (practical demonstration by students)
