- Course objectives
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of basic theoretical rules and principles of floristry and floral arrangement. Emphasis is placed on gaining practical experience from individual floristic disciplines, as well as using non-traditional materials and ways of their processing.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- learn how to navigate in aids and materials used in floristry and floral arranging;
- to learn to prepare plant material and to treat floral work or decoration;
- apply your creativity in the final work;
- apply compositional principles and rules in practice;
- to choose and apply the appropriate technique of creating a floral work or decoration;
- knowledge of plant, technical and decorative material by appropriate selection. - Syllabus
- Block 1 = introduction to floristry and the basics of arranging, technique - container decoration - pricked arrangement in the concept of floristic design. Basic processing of plant material, principles of working with arrangement material, presentation of basic styles, compliance with aesthetic laws. Floristry in the time of souls - creative mourning floristry.
- Block 2 = basic concepts, working with dried and living material, technique - bouquets - dried plants, fruits, inflorescences and other materials provide us with a large amount of creative work in floristry, durability and variety encourage various modifications of interesting arrangements for apartments and interiors.
- Block 3 = traditional Advent decoration - technique - Advent wreath - types of Advent wreaths, preparation techniques, decorating options. Inspiration for Advent interior decoration. Advent customs and trends.

- In the case of a trip abroad, it is possible to complete the subject in a substitute form. During the semester, according to study supports - interactive syllabus and videos - students will record and photograph their work according to the individual topics of the blocks.

The course is taught annually. - Teacher's information
- Students choose from the offered seminar groups/blocks - 3 blocks - according to the times (which vary) that suit them (e.g. block 1A, block 2C and block 3B) and enroll in all selected seminar groups/blocks.
The student will pay for the material for the individual lessons of the course himself - a maximum of approx. 2,000 CZK/semester should be expected. Compositions become the property of the author.
The "Kejbaly" PdF MU garden is located near the Brno-Bohunice University Campus, Vinohrady Street 506/100.
You can get to the garden by bus line 40 (it stops, for example, at the Křídlovická stop - next to the Winning Group Arena). You must get off at the STUDENTSKÁ stop!!! and then walk a short distance.
Or take line 69 from the Bohunice Hospital or University Campus stop. Get off at the KAMENICE stop!!! and then walk a short distance. Another option is to come by car, if you choose this option, take a good look at the search engine (www.mapy.cz) to find out how to get to us. The garden itself is off-limits (we have approx. 2-3 parking spaces here). If the police catch you, show off your student ID and that you're going to the faculty garden (but you might still get a fine).
