Course objectives
The aim of the course is to investigate various possibilites of using popular songs in a secondary school classroom. At the end of this course, students should be able to design lesson plans based on songs.
Syllabus
  • Each lesson, different ways of working with songs will be presented, that is (minimum): gap filling, jumbled lyrics, changed lyrics, prediction, new lyrics, personalization, etc.

Teaching methods
The course is practice based. The participants will be encouraged to try all the activities out.
Assessment methods
A seminar paper (a design of a music-based activity - lesson plan) is required by the end of the semester. The paper is either handed in in the mood-link-a, commented on by all course participants and discussed with the teacher at a credit interview. Please note that you should be in the 5th semester of your studies if you want to participate. Attendance is compulsory (exceptions may be granted for emergencies only).
